Saint Patrick's Parish Bulletin

May 6, 2007~5th SUNDAY OF EASTER

Faith, hope, and love ~ nothing will keep the Kingdom of God from prevailing.

We are to Love one Another as Jesus loves us. This can be very difficult when someone we love wants to hurt us in some way. Difficult times are part of the human condition, however, as followers of Christ, we can endure any hardship. Jesus is our strength who walks with us. We are never alone.

Sisters of Charity Congratulations!
Did you know that this Month of May, the Sisters of Charity have been ministering in Saint Patrick's Parish for 150 years! We congratulate them and pray the Lord to teach us all charity.....

SILENCE -when words hurt.
PATIENCE- when the neighbor is curt.
DEAFNESS- when a scandal flows.
COMPASSION-for another's woes.
COURAGE- when misfortune falls.
PROMPTNESS-when duty calls. -Anon.

St. Patrick's extends its prayers and congratulations to Fr. Zachary Romanovsky who was ordained to the priesthood on Friday evening by Archbishop Prendergast. May the Lord bless his ministry, and bless all of us through him!

Giving Generously ~ Receiving Gratefully.GIVING GENEROUSLY
RECEIVING GRATEFULLY

In today's Gospel, Jesus gives His disciples - and us - a new commandment: "Love one Another". Good stewards who spend their time and talents in service to others are well on their way to fulfilling this commandment.

FROM THE PASTOR
We will begin the process of amalgamation of St. Mary's and St. Patrick's parishes this week with a joint meeting of the Administrative Committees of the two parishes in St. Patrick's Hall on Monday. The purpose of the meeting will be to design a process by which the many issues needing to be attended to will be dealt with. These issues are not simply practical ones, but go to the heart of discerning and reformulating the missions of both parishes in the context of the objectives of 'Forward in Faith' throughout the Archdiocese. As we approach Pentacost I invite all to pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit that will give us wisdom in discernment, courage in action, and charity to bind together all our efforts. I refer you to the letter distributed with this bulletin.

Fr. Mabey
