Saint Patrick's Parish Bulletin
February 11th ~ 6TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
It is sad to see those who rush from one activity to the next seeking happiness. They may find fleeting joy in the purchase of the latest electronic marvels, taking an exotic trip, or the fickle life of fame or power. We, however, know the truth that Jesus teaches: True blessedness lies not in the passing things of this world but in our firm hope in the Lord.
BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO, IN THEIR PAIN, LOOK TO GOD. WOE TO THOSE WHO NEVER ADMIT THEIR NEED OF GOD.

Our most sincere condolences go out to Mary Ogaa. Mary's older sister Antonietta Mondo died
on Feb 2nd leaving behind her husband and five children. We also remember today other recently deceased members of Ogaa's family: her husband Jude, her mother Natalina, and her mother-in-law Esther. All are buried in Uganda. MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY MARY!
PLEASE NOTE
That there are QUESTIONNAIRES and pencils in your pews. It is of utmost importance that you fill out these questionnaires for our parish records and for upcoming sacraments. We prefer you fill them out in the pews after Communion. If not possible, please bring them home and return them next week. PLEASE drop them in the box at the back of the church. THANK YOU.
According to tradition, St. Valentine was a Roman Christian who was martyred during the persecution of Christians in the third century. Prior to his death, Valentine continued to minister in prison by witnessing to his prison guards. He continued making converts in prison until he was sentenced to death. Why not celebrate the true love that compelled young Valentine to give up his life, refusing to renounce his faith in
Christ?
The world's love is only as sturdy as a paper Valentine card. God's love is an all-giving love that he bore to the Cross on Calvary.
"BE MY VALENTINE" simply means "You are Loved."
On VALENTINE'S DAY, this coming Wednesday, February 14, our church will be open from 2:00 to 4:00 pm for tea, goodies and conversation with your fellow parishioners. We hope you can come !!!!
GIVING GENEROUSLY
RECEIVING GRATEFULLY
The words of the Psalmist echo the theme of all of today's readings; "Happy are they who hope in the Lord." As good Stewards, firmly grounded in that hope, may we bear fruit in due season -assisting the poor, feeding the hungry, and consoling the sorrowful whenever we have the chance.
