EASTER ~ THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD
The triumph of Christ over death is a cause of joy for all who believe.
The Easter season is "the most joyous time in the Church's year." Today, and for the next fifty days, we will celebrate and rejoice in the triumph of Christ over the power of death. We live in the hope that we, too, will pass through the gates of death and rise to eternal life. We sing "Alleluia" for we are Easter people.

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY, APRIL 15
SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER
THE Second Sunday of the Easter Season has been designated by People John Paul II as Divine Mercy Sunday. The gospel reading speaks of Jesus' mercy to the disciples who had deserted him as he appeared to them on the night of his resurrection and said:
"Peace be with you." The day will be marked by the EXPOSITION of the BLESSED SACRAMENT at ST. MARY'S CATHEDRAL on Sunday, April 15 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm.
NEWS FROM OUR SUDANESE FAMILIES
Mary Achol Dau Bilieu (who with several children was initiated at St. Pat's, Easter 2002) and her sister Angelina Dau send their Easter Greetings to all from Edmonton. Recently , Angelina went to Uganda (now as a Canadian citizen) but returned to Edmonton, more appreciative than ever of the cold climate. Achol is working at two jobs and still singing. The children are growing up! Angelina's son Buk, and his siblings are doing well. Buk sends us his greetings.

GIVING GENEROUSLY
RECEIVING GRATEFULLY
In the reading today, St. Paul reminds the Colossians that they have been raised with Christ, exhorting them to "be intent on the things above rather than on things of earth." We , too, have been raised with Christ. Let us rejoice and be glad!
