2nd SUNDAY OF EASTER
Jesus brings peace when we are troubled.
The message of Jesus is simple but powerful: “Peace be with you.”
The gospel reading speaks of Jesus’ mercy to the disciples who had deserted him as he appeared to them on the night of his resurrection and said: “Peace be with you.”
The day will be marked by the EXPOSITION of the BLESSED SACRAMENT at
ST. MARY’S CATHEDRAL today from 12:30 to 1:30 pm.?
One can imagine that there was fear and anxiety in the hearts of the disciples since they abandoned their friend in his time of need. It is the power of the Spirit that brings them calm and the strength they will need to embrace their mission of love and forgiveness to the world.
Jesus calms all our fears when we keep his peace in our hearts. |

“Blessed are they who have not seen and have believed,” Jesus says in today’s Gospel. SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL NEEDS HELP
Each month, the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul at St. Patrick’s provides emergency food for approximately 150 women, children and men living in our neighborhood. In order to continue this important work, we need your assistance! In addition to our need for volunteers to make visits to our clients, we also need people to take messages off of our answering machine, return phone calls, or enter data into our computer.
If you are able to offer a few hours a month, it would help very much in our ministry. Please see Steven O’Halloran at the back of the church after Mass,
or call him at 465-4495. Thanks Steve O’Halloran, President, SVDP
