Saint Patrick's Parish Bulletin
January 7 ~ First Sunday in Ordinary Time
*** NO MASSES AT HOPE COTTAGE FOR THE NEXT FEW MONTHS***
Building Funds
As we come to year’s end, we have an extraordinary expense which will be incurred by the Parish to protect the Ascension window above the altar. This “stained glass” window survived the Halifax Explosion and is now being affected by inclement weather. If you would like to donate to its protection, please place your donation (over and above your usual donation) in a separate envelope marked “Window Repair”. Thank You for your generosity.
Please Note
We have run out of COMMUNION PYXES. Would anyone not currently involved in Ministry to Seniors please return to the sacristy any PYX in his/her possession? Thanks very much! Pyxes are costly, and only commissioned ministers should have them.
Canada Post on Almon Street. Although postage goes up one cent effective
Jan 16, Canada Post has a large quantity of “Baby Jesus” Madonna and Child
51-cent stamps that can be purchased in booklets of 12 for $6.12+tax and used through to Dec 31, 2007.
2007 ENVELOPES
Please pick up your 2007 Sunday envelopes at the back of the church. If the address is wrong, you would be kind to let Betty know 429-1300 so that she can update her records. Don’t have envelopes and would like some? Please let her know also. Thank you!
SCARBORO MISSIONERS IN MALAWI (AFRICA)
Former parishioners Michael and Gwen Westwell, spending their first Christmas in Malawi, had this message: “During Christmastide, we wish you all the peace and joy of Christ Jesus. The blessings we have experienced in Mission overwhelmingly outweigh the gentle reminder that we are a great distance from friends and loved ones in Canada. Their message closed with this quotation: “Give our Lord the benefit of believing that his hand is leading you, and accept the anxiety of feeling yourself in suspense and incomplete.”
