3rd SUNDAY OF ADVENT Dec 17, 2006 — Rejoice, for the Lord is near.

The ministry of John the Baptist reminds us that we must continually prepare ourselves to welcome our Savior when he returns. John preached repentance, and his teachings are still relative in today’s world: share what you have, do not cheat others, do not accuse falsely. John speaks of Jesus when he says, “One mightier than I is coming.”

St. Anthony has Moved...

ST. ANTHONY HAS MOVED FROM INSIDE HIS CHAPEL TO JUST OUTSIDE THE DOOR SO THAT HE CAN WATCH OVER YOU MORE CLOSELY. FEEL FREE TO CALL ON HIM WHEN YOU LOSE THINGS.

Prayer to Saint Anthony of Padua
Dear Saint Anthony, you are the patron of the poor and the helper of all who seek lost articles. Help me to find the object I have lost so that I will be able to make better use of the time I will gain for God's greater honor and glory. Grant your gracious aid to all people who seek what they have lost - especially those who seek to regain God's grace. Amen.

Today’s Gospel provides

NOTE FROM BETTY
Christmas is a time when people love to give chocolates. If you would like to drop off chocolates at the Rectory, I will see to it that they are fairly distributed to the homeless who come to the door. It brightens their face, and in turns brighten my heart.
